so it would be a good idea to replace the sliding and sash windows with casements,here are some - also double glazed, by miglas
and there are some by a mob called qualital spruiking "european quality" - including double-glazing. these can combine aluminium and timber too,and ooh shutters!
i'd like a series of casement windows - pol & tony have some in their house - although theirs pivot on a central hinge and can open at least 180 degrees
