bits of tasmania

Aurora lights up the night
driving down to hobart from the north east coast, we stopped in bicheno for some coffee
there on the cover of the sunday mercury was the tag line, Aurora Australis Light Shows! page 2

how exciting - we were going to be in hobart at the optimum time.
maybe we'll see it, maybe not, but cool to be in the vicinity

grand mophie

the battery on my iphone is running flat. speaking to a shop person i found out (how did i not know this?) that apple doesn't allow you to "replace" a battery; rather they'll replace your phone if it's under warranty

i was told that there are external battery iphone covers ...!

they're called mophie juice packs

apparently the earlier model (which i'd need for my phone) is bulky - and we can't have that!

also works for ipod touchies...

possible dates,
thursday 14 July (date confirmed!),
this catches the overlap of vic, nsw and act school holidays

wedding at the registry (old treasury building)
wedding photos outside the paperback for ole times sake
a short stroll to the european/

supper club for morning tea, a toast to the b&g

the famous supper club window (what i've read described as the playschool window)

and, of course, wedding cake.

At first i thought an opera cake would be good.
the first description i read simply listed layers of joconde (coffee soaked almond cake) and ganache,
but apparently it traditionally also includes coffee butter cream, - so the kind of sickly sweet and cloyingly rich we used to get once a year from europa and monarch's in acland street.
a flourless chocolate cake with pear will be much better,
(an alternative recipe)
maybe embellished with cake pops for the kids

very fancy ones in london

less fancy

less fancy in melbourne

or there's always diy diy

diyy

diyiy

an alternative idea is those coloured macaroons on a bed of confetti so they look like big fat confetti
finally (maybe after a rest), dinner at the grace darling in the atrium

i love the dinky dodgy lights ...

might even be fun.

then our real moon in the mud house near castlemaine...
