sunbury plains

ah sunbury

thoughts of the volcanic plains, the organ pipes national park (grade 3 school trip on a grey wintry day), tullamarine, some festival in the 70s with aztec sacrifices

and now!

the sunbury farmers market! 1 macedon st, sunbury, 2nd saturday of the month - at the place where the ashes rose apocraphylly from the charred remains of a set of bails.

their blurb says: Situated on the picturesque grounds of the Gatehouse right next door to Rupertswood Mansion (The home of the Ashes!), this boutique farmers market has the perfect blend of producers and growers with a friendly “country” style atmosphere. Commencing early 2010 the Sunbury farmers market has quickly become a must do for locals and visitors alike.

it's fresh from the farm, says an article in the sunbury leader

sounds nice. certainly better than the poor excuse for a farmers market we have locally.

and just around the corner, at that nursery (on lancefield rd, sunbury) 355 Lancefield Road, Sunbury they stock oak-barrels, for a very good price , 1/2 at $60, 3/4 at $75 (which they recommend for fruit trees, and perhaps she-oaks?)

down by the river side!

one of my favourite walks with p is down by the yarra riverside
it's beautiful and peaceful and smells like eucalypts
sometimes we fantasise about living in even closer proximity to the river
imagine my delight, surprise and giddy envy, when design files blogged about someone who does live down by the yarra riverside in fairfield/alphington in a boathouse/bungalow

some pictures of the boathouse/bungalow, and a snipshot of the locale,
and inside pictures, too ... so lovely
