urban forests, trees of life

while putting together an episode for evilmonika, i became inspired by people growing plants and food on balconies,

and then found there were people "growing" trees up walls

or encouraging trees to draw

(tim knowles)

there's a world of imagination out there!

ring of confidence

thinking up a name for this blog i suddenly remembered the colgate ring of confidence from the 70s - this was the best image i could come up with
kasia has given me money toward the gold and saphire ring i lost a while ago, it's lodged with kath, and when i told paul he suggested an engagement ring
i'm pretty sure both babcia and bunia would be into that
so, looking at kath's stuff...

metung

when my mum and dad rediscovered each other's company, metung was one of their "places" to go

last year, by chance, mum got a call offering a holiday at the metung holiday villas - mum and dad never went here, but they would have jumped at the chance of a reasonably-priced base camp for forays into the area
