lick o' paint

when i think of painting the house, my mind gets colourful
when i was little one of my favourite books was the house of four seasons
(i hated that they decided "white includes all colours and painted the place white; i'd rather not take this option)

i love the pink of mexican houses, and the tradition of painted the bottom of the house (and around the windows) a different colour.

pale smokygreen, dark stormy blue, mexican pink

painted houses

Below, a bright pink kindergarden building with a perhaps wishful scene painted all around it.

bed-room eyes

two metres of open ikea space
hanging clothes, shoes, drawers ...
makes me think it would be nice for my eyes to rest on another vista
this painting
the way it's hung, make it look like a kimono
i like the blotchy-ink spotted-ness, reminds me of john olsen (except the lame autumn leaves)
some olsens,
sydney sun
inky friendly giraffes
nice to get some heavy canvas and do a little large scale inky painting ...

this goldsworthy

being koi

a long while ago, i thought i'd like 3 goldfish: curly, flo and ping

and then maybe a year or so ago,
p and i had a conversation about having some fish - a fishtank like his sister's, to persecute the cats. we could watch them while they watched
(and possibly terrified) the fish

there's always the alternative of plastic jellyfish

piece of my mind/peace of mind

there's a scary similarity between the sentence structure but the two states of mind are screaming lightyears apart
(remo image only here for the "piece of (my) mind" reference)
while i've been in therapy for years (and it's given me a world of difference) there are some bits that refuse to shift, habits that are too forceful
act mindfully
all about embracing your demons / acceptance & commitment therapy
what are my demons?
*eating mindlessly distractedly desperately for comfort
*buying mindlessly distractedly desperately for comfort

*ignoring friends, allowing myself to drift from contact
*hiding from life burrowing & hibernating, and allowing myself to think it is too difficult to face
*ignoring my physical body's needs -diabetes & weight issues especially blood sugar control, exercise, good food
